Data Deletion

You can ask us to delete the information we hold about you. This page tells you exactly how, who to ask, how long it takes, and the few things we are obliged to keep.

Last updated 3 September 2026

The short versionEmail or WhatsApp us, and we will action it.

Write to connect@drishtaa.com with the subject line Data deletion request, or message +91 90544 11727 on WhatsApp. Tell us who you are, which institute you are connected with, and the phone number or email address the record is held under. We will acknowledge your request within 7 days and complete it within 30 days.

There is nothing to pay, and you do not need an account with us to ask.

Who to askIt depends who you are — this matters.

Drishtaa is software sold to coaching institutes and schools. Most of the information in it was entered by an institute about its own students and families. That institute controls those records; we hold them on the institute's behalf. So the right first step depends on which of these you are:

A parent or student

Ask your institute first — the record is theirs, and they can remove it directly. If you would rather come to us, or the institute has not responded, email us and we will pass the request on and make sure it is dealt with.

An institute using Drishtaa

Email us from the address on your account. We will export your records for you if you want a copy, then delete your institute's data and close the account.

You contacted us

If you filled in the demo form, sent a WhatsApp message to our business number, or emailed us, and you want that enquiry removed, just say so — no account or institute needed.

WhatsApp and FacebookInformation received through Meta's platforms.

Drishtaa sends and receives messages through the WhatsApp Business Platform, operated by Meta. If you have messaged one of our numbers or an institute's number, we may hold your phone number, your name as WhatsApp reports it, the messages exchanged and their delivery status. If you connected a Facebook or WhatsApp Business account to Drishtaa, we may also hold the account and phone-number identifiers needed to send on your behalf.

To have any of that deleted, email connect@drishtaa.com or WhatsApp +91 90544 11727 with the subject Data deletion request and the phone number concerned. We will delete what we hold and disconnect the account. Deleting our copy does not delete the messages held in your own WhatsApp app or in Meta's systems — for those, use WhatsApp's own settings or contact Meta.

What to includeFour lines is enough.

So we can find the right record and be sure we are not deleting someone else's, please tell us:

About you

Your name, and the phone number or email address the record is held under. If you are a parent, the student's name and their institute.

What you want removed

Everything, or something specific — a phone number, an enquiry, message history. If you are not sure what we hold, ask us and we will tell you first.

We may come back to you once to confirm your identity. We ask for as little as possible to do that, and we do not keep what you send for the check any longer than the check takes.

What happens nextAcknowledged in 7 days, done within 30.

We acknowledge every request within 7 days and tell you what we found. Where the record belongs to an institute, we tell you which institute and pass the request to them, and we follow it up. Once deletion is agreed, the records are removed from the live platform and fall out of our backups as those backups age out on their normal 30-day cycle — we do not go back and edit historical backups, but they are not restored to reverse a deletion either.

When it is done, we will write and tell you it is done.

The exceptionsA few things we have to keep.

We will not delete records we are required to retain — chiefly invoices, receipts and payment records, which Indian accounting and tax rules oblige us and the institute to keep for a set period. We also keep a limited log of messages sent, so a dispute about whether a fee reminder was actually delivered can be settled fairly. Anything we hold back, we will name in our reply, along with the reason and when it will go.

One thing worth knowing: if you are a currently enrolled student or the parent of one, deleting the record generally means the institute can no longer run attendance, fees or results for that student. Your institute will usually want to discuss that with you before it happens.
